Apple finally reveals ‘Find My’ feature for AirPods buyers

Apple has finally answered our prayers. Apple has unveiled their own Find My AirPods solution so you can find your lost headphone.

Apple quietly made the feature available in the recent 10.3 developer beta, as reported by 9to5mac.

The feature will work within the Find my iPhone application, similar to that of Find my Mac using Maps in iCloud. But since the headphones are Bluetooth, you may have to trace back your steps within a 5-10 meter range to get a connection to play a sound. A sound is emitted through the headphones and get gradually louder, but if you only lost one, you can disable the one you have.

The feature is currently only available to developers at the moment, but we hope for a public release in the coming weeks.

Shipments of AirPods in recent weeks haven’t improved, so hopefully, this solution will make its debut in time when you receive your AirPods in 6 weeks time.
